The VerbroederIJ is a city beach with a pavilion and a community vegetable garden. It's a lovely spot where people from the neighborhood can come together. This community initiative that was devised and realized together with the residents of the neighbourhood. Come and have lunch or dinner, enjoy an afternoon of gardening with us, or join the neighborhood meal.

If you'd like to visit the cafe, you can book a spot through our website ( the information is in Dutch). We only take walk-ins for the terrace. At De VerbroederIJ we want everyone to feel welcome. Show your Stadspas with a green dot, so that you and your housemates will receive a 50% discount on the bill. The VerbroederIJ has many (free) activities. Check the agenda to see what's on.
The VerbroerderIJ is open on Mondays for group reservations. If you'd like to know more, send an email to feestje@deverbroederij.nl. For all other opening hours check the website.
You can find us at 't IJ, near the ferry to Oost. If you come by public transport, the VerbroederIJ is an 8-minute walk from Noorderpark metro station. Parking is free from 19:00 onwards.
