Theatre Bellevue has three halls and hosts modern theatre, comedy and dance performances. It also regularly schedules lunchtime performances in the Paloni Hall that are the length of a normal lunch break. These are either one act plays or short performances. The café/restaurant inside the theatre is called De Smoeshaan.
Theatre Bellevue in Amsterdam has grown into a cultural concept in the last 30 years. For makers of music theatre, new theatre, contemporary dance, visual theatre, cabaret and puppet/object theatre, Bellevue is an indispensable place for presentation. We offer around 650 performances every year in three halls and on location.
Our theatre café and restaurant De Smoeshaan is Amsterdam's main theatre café and an important meeting place for culture lovers and theatre makers.
Making theatre accessible to as many people as possible is what Theatre Bellevue likes to achieve. That also entails thinking about ticket prices. Where some people do not have to think twice about buying a ticket at the regular price, for others it could be a reason not to go to the theatre. To keep the theatre accessible to everyone, Theatre Bellevue introduced Pay What You Can, the option to pay according to your means. If you want to know more about Pay What You Can, visit the website (information is in Dutch) for more information.
