Elypsia Music Group presents Four Decades of Detroit Techno

Detroit techno emerged in the 1980s and grew into one of the most influential movements in electronic music. During Amsterdam Dance Event, Elypsia Music Group brings together an evening that chronicles four decades of that history. At the Q-Factory in Amsterdam, artists will perform who helped shape the sound of Detroit and continue to innovate.

Artists with deep-rooted knowledge of the genre

Octave One, the Burden brothers, is known for their powerful live sets and soulful production style. Scan 7 is a collective from Detroit that performed as early as the 1980s and views the city as its greatest source of inspiration. Terrence Dixon works from a minimalist and abstract sound and has built up an extensive oeuvre. Kenny Larkin is considered one of the most influential figures in the Detroit techno and house scene.

A varied line-up

In addition to the Detroit veterans, Alinka, Acida Dominga, JakoJako, Pascal Hetzel, DJ Pierre, and DJ Deg are also on the program. Together, they present an evening that showcases both the roots of the genre and its contemporary interpretation. The Q-Factory in Amsterdam offers a fitting setting for this.
