How to visit the Dutch Fortress Museum with your City Card
It is not necessary to reserve a time slot to visit this museum with your City Card. Make sure your City Card is valid at the time of your visit.
The Naarden Fortress and the Fortress Museum
Naarden was an important city in the defense line of Amsterdam.
Visit the exhibitions here and listen to the stories about the history of Naarden, the Dutch Water Lines and the artillery. Don't forget the grounds around the fortress with its beautiful view, the green ramparts and the underground passages. Many events take place in and around the fortress, such as archery or fencing demonstrations, book markets and private parties.
And.... every third Sunday of the month we have out Canonneers Day, then our old (1810) cannons are fired at 14:00 and 15:00 by our Napoleontic canonneers.
Pleas note: It's a shame If you visit the museum after 16:30, there is not enough time to fully experience this museum.
