Generational Muscle Memory, 2026
Generational muscle memory marks a shift in Iriée Zamblé's practice. In these collages, photographs themselves form the work, merging family archives with observations from her travels. The series explores cultural continuity and the knowledge that subconsciously embeds itself in the body and instincts.
Warmoesstraat, historically linked to trade and migration, serves as a meaningful context of flow and intermingling. Zamblé's work moves between painting, photography, and printmaking, reflecting on community, displacement, and multiple identities.
Original Pancake Warmoesstraat is the location of this pavilion.
This pavilion is a collaboration with the Rembrandt House Museum.
