Following in the paw prints of Tokyo, New York and London, Amsterdam's first cat café opened in April 2015 thanks to a successful crowdfunding scheme by cat-loving entrepreneur Lenny Popelier.

Visitors at the cat café can relax in the company of eight beautiful rescue cats while sipping on a 'cattucino' or enjoying a light lunch or feline shaped cake. The stylish space has been designed with cats in mind, combining a stimulating and creative environment for the friendly cats, who were lovingly selected from two local shelters. Entry is 3 euros; which pays for the cats' food and upkeep.
