A post-apocalyptic duet about survival and connection
In It's About Time, a humanoid hatches from an egg in an empty space. In her arms, she holds the head of her twin sister: a bird, somewhere between a vulture and something intangible. The creature cannot survive without her. The human feeds it with breath, movement, and attention. But as her care grows, the creature's eyes begin to look back.
Physical theatre, puppetry and live sound
The performance combines physical theatre, puppetry, projection, and live sound. You see a world in which the boundaries between man and machine, man and animal, and self and other have dissolved. Everything must be reinvented. The result is an immersive piece that is simultaneously tender and grotesque.
Themes: identity, vulnerability and transformation
The performance explores how identity and autonomy are shaped by control, care, and dependence. Inspired by Bunraku and contemporary performance, Maimone employs human-object relations to question the boundary between body and system.
