Armed with rich colors and their friendship, the name Lapislázuli proved to be the perfect choice for the debut concert of Mexican violinist Fátima Hernández and Spanish harpsichordist and pianist Isabel Negrín. In 2024, they founded Lapislázuli as an outlet for their free spirits and their curiosity about Spanish and Mexican music and poetry from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as popular music from Spain and Latin America, a constant in their lives.
Lapislázuli explores the history of Spain through its great composers: Enrique Granados, Federico García Lorca, Manuel de Falla, Macedonio Alcalá, and José Sabré Marroquín, among others. With an original and unforgettable program, Lapislázuli evokes a sense of longing for a distant land.
