Grachtenfestival: Duo Fatalis

Violin and cello in an energetic duo

Duo Fatalis presents a program for violin and cello with works by Honegger, Ravel, and Handel/Halvorsen. Honegger's Sonatina features a compact, tight musical language. Ravel deliberately pushes the boundaries between the two instruments, while Handel/Halvorsen concludes with a virtuosic duet in which violin and cello are entirely equal.

Brother and sister at the foundation of the duo

Isaac and Yente Lottman are brother and sister and together form Duo Fatalis. Both studied at the Sweelinck Academy and continued their education at conservatories in Amsterdam and London. They won prizes at the Britten Competition and the Pablo Casals Cello Competition, among others.
