A platform for contemporary art

With its varied public programme – consisting of exhibitions, performances, lectures and debates – De Appel introduces a broad and curious audience to the latest developments in contemporary art.

Accessibility

As indicated, the Appel building does not have an elevator but a stair climber. This is a chair with a caterpillar track underneath that is placed parallel to the stairs. It pushes itself up by means of a battery. A staff member helps by holding the chair tilted properly and walking up the stairs with it.
